	Fangorn The Forest of Fangorn was located at the south-eastern end of the Misty Mountains near the Gap of Rohan. The mountains formed the western border of Fangorn. At the end of the mountain range stood the stronghold of Isengard near the southwestern corner of the forest and this was where Saruman lived. To the east and south of Fangorn was the land of Rohan, and Lothlórien lay to the north and slightly east. Fangorn Forest stretched for many miles and held many paths. 	High Pass The High Pass also known as Cirith Forn en Andrath is an important mountain pass over the Misty Mountains. On its western end is the refuge of Rivendell, and from there the Great East Road climbs into the mountains until it reaches the mountain under which lies the Goblin-town. 	Caradhras Also know as the Redhorn Pass, and known in the Dwarves' language as Barazinbar, is one of the mightiest peaks in the Misty Mountains. It stands above the Redhorn Gate, the only known surface route through the Misty Mountains between Rivendell and the Gap of Rohan. 	Gap of Rohan The Gap of Rohan is the opening between the mountain ranges of the Misty Mountains and the White Mountains (Ered Nimrais).Through the Gap of Rohan flowed the rivers Isen and Adorn, which formed the effective boundary of the Kingdom of Rohan. Rohan was formerly known as Calenardhon, and thus the Gap was then known as the Gap of Calenardhon. The triangle between the Isen and Adorn rivers and the White Mountains was a contested area between the Rohirrim and the Dunlendings.
